Recently we at Atlas Glass Company Philadelphia had one of our busier weeks. The following is a log of our activity and is a good example of what it's like working at an active Philadelphia glass company. Click on the link below to visit our full website Monday: We try to keep our work schedule open on Monday mornings for a good reason - we get quite a few calls from business owners who have had broken window glass over the weekend. This Monday morning was no exception, and being one of the only glass companies in center city Philadelphia gives us a great response time to such calls. First up was a broken door glass repair on 3rd Street in Old City Philadelphia. After that, we did a plate glass replacement for a clothing store on Walnut Street near Rittenhouse Square in center city Philadelphia Tuesday: At 7 am we started work on a commercial storefront installation in the Northern Liberties section of Downtown Philadelphia. A job such as this requires the whole crew from our Philadelphia glass company and all of us were there (except Vince, who was home sick). First we removed the old storefront, then essentially plugged in the new storefront and commercial door which we had preassembled the week before at the shop. After we secured the window frames and entranceway, we installed the glass - in this particular case it was quarter-inch tempered safety glass for the entire storefront. Next up, we installed some aluminum flashing which we had also pre-fabricated. Jobs like this are always time consuming when done right. The entire job was finished at 4pm. Wednesday: Unusually high winds prevented us from doing any really big window glass repairs. We concentrated for the most part on doing a few home window repairs and giving estimates for work to be performed by Atlas Glass Company Philadelphia on another day Thursday: A beautiful clear day is just the thing for doing glass repair in Philadelphia. We did a plate glass repair at a barb3hop in North Philadelphia, a door glass repair on Broad Street in South Philadelphia and a door glass repair in University City in West Philadelphia. Friday: Took a call from homeowner who was looking for new windows in his home. I explained to him that what he really was looking for was a window company, not a glass company. Most people don't realize that glass companies in Philadelphia fix existing windows, and window companies install entirely new windows. It may sound silly, but that's how it works here. Anyhow, the day was most filled with estimating various jobs and fixing small residential window glass. As you can see being a full-service glass company in Philadelphia is a busy job. Sometimes busier than others. But if you need us we'll always be here. Call anytime.
