The Glass Dude From Atlas Glass Company in Philadelphia takes a look at the classics... Weekend At Bernie's - Released: 1989 Directed by: Ted Kotcheff Screenplay by: Robert Klane Produced by: Victor Drai (Of Drai's nightclub in Vegas fame) The Glass Dude has always loved this movie, right from the very first time he saw it in the movies twenty-five years ago (is that possible? lol). The story of two would-be upwardly-mobile losers looking to making it big in the insurance field. At the glass company the Glass Dude works at this is a rainy day staple that gets as much airplay as Caddyshack and Dumb and Dumber. And while the humor is much less muted it still packs a great punch, even after all these years. The ten (+) best quotes: Jack Parker, Richard's Dad: How about if I lay you out? Paulie The Hit Man: I'm a little rusty... But it'll come back to me. (Laughs) Larry Wilson: My old man worked hard. All they did was give him more work. Larry Wilson: Hi, Tawny. I'm horny. Larry Wilson: Why don't we just pretend he didn't die? Just for a bit! Paulie The Hit Man: Quite a ride, huh, Bern? Man at the Marina: That's illegal! What you're doing is illegal! Larry Wilson: Only half hour? I'm usually forty-five minutes late. I'm early today. Larry Wilson: Richard worked on that part, sir... Vito: Take care of Lomax, he's getting sloppy, careless, and besides, he's #@?&%! my girlfriend. Richard Parker: Great weekend! A great movie in addition to being one of the all-time great Summer Movies. Enjoy! Useless Trivia: The film's director, Ted Kotchoff, made a cameo as Richard's father, the man who came out in his underwear and blew his phony backstory; Andrew McCarthy was orginally casted to play the part of Richard, but after reading the script fell in love with the part of Larry and made the switch.
